Dan Allison, a friend and colleague of mine recently was interviewed on his blog and probably gave me the best compliment a strength coach could ask for. LT asked the questions and Dan responded.
Here’s what he had to say.
LT – Who would you say as far as “GURU” do you look up to and study the most?
Dan Allison – “Charles Poliquin is my favorite coach that I look up to. I was introduced to his work by Chicago based strength coach Chris Grayson. Chris is the next guy that I immediately go to for advice. Other than that, I really enjoy hearing what all of the guys at Elitefts have to say (especially Dave, Jim, and Harry Selkow), Elliott Hulse, Joe Hashey, etc. I like to hear what everyone has to say.”
I helped Dan with his diet and training for a body building show he did a few years ago. Since then he’s been finishing up a degree at Western Michigan University to become a strength coach, has coached several athletes, and has now become one of my “Go To” guys on nutrition. Experience is the best teacher and he’s pretty much mastered the art of dialing in a ripped physique. He just recently got a college football player in phenomenal shape for a body building contest.
Check out the results he got by clicking here.
And on that note, here’s what Dan had to say about working with me along with a few other current and previous clients of mine.
“Over a two year period Chris has helped me change my eating habits to help me frombeing a “fat kid” all of my life, he’s helped with the program design for power lifting competition where I was able to set personal record lifts as a result, and he has enlightened me on how to evolve the right way as a strength and conditioning professional. I’m always seeking out the advice of experts in the field, and Chris is the first person I go to.”

Ryan Serge – Personal Trainer
“Hi, I’m Eddie Redzovic, Gracie Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt and first Gracie Barra representative here in America for Carlos Gracie Jr. of the legendary Gracie family.
Chris has been training jiu-jitsu with me for some time now and at the same time I’ve been training with him to get stronger and improve my conditioning.
Throughout the years we’ve had several trainers come to our academy attempting to tell us how we should train to improve our martial arts training. None of them ever impressed me until Chris came. He seemed to speak a different language. Many of the things he told me I’d never heard before yet they made sense logically.
He’s helped in developing great routines that transfer over to what we do and that’s Gracie Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I can go on and on about his talent in this field and his knowledge to put you on the right diet as far as nutrition, which plays a very important aspect in helping the athlete progress to the next level.
And last but definitely not least in my book, I’d like to mention his passion, great personality, and good character as a human being. Not only will he take your game to the next level in the areas of strength, conditioning and nutrition but truly win your trust, and that’s not easy to find nowadays. Chris has become a close friend and brother!”

I’m now working with many online clients. Anyone not getting the results they’re after are probably not seeing what they truly need to be doing, either due to lack of knowledge (if you don’t train people for a living) or from not being completely objective on what you need.
I only like to work with no more than 10 clients at a time. If you have an interest to test drive a months worth of training, I currently have two spots that just opened up.
